Our first move toward Bangladesh was one of altitude. We moved from up to down.
Jan had had this in mind when we bought this home: to buy a house in which we could rent out the upstairs and have a separate downstairs living area for our brief visits home from Bangladesh. So... yesterday with the help of saints from North Woolwich Church and Chop Point School, we made the move from upstairs to downstairs.
A move is a purge- a removal of the many accumulated items which filled our closets and drawers.
Now we are trying to narrow everything down to four (maybe six) suitcases which can be taken on the plane with us. These are sitting in a pile awaiting our final decision.
What do we REALLY need to take with us?
What would YOU take to Bangladesh?
I wouldn't take those open plastic crate boxes with me if I were you!...you can get something like it over there, no doubt. I'd take some good books & some clothes, knowing that I'd pick up more along the way--and some that are more appropriate for the context. Oh, those packing/transition days...so many choices, so much stress...take LOTS of His grace along with anything else!
ReplyDeleteThe plastic crate is not under consideration...it just holds some things that are. And as for the stress---yes, a marriage had better be strong because inevitably our packing styles and choices clash!
